Day 7. Pamplona to Zariguiegui - 11 kms.

As we left Pamplona and got a bit away from the city, we turned to look back at the city and the Pyrenees looming in the distance.  It felt good to have the Pyrenees behinds us and to head west across Spain towards the Atlantic Ocean.

It was a very difficult day today, not for the distance or the terrain but the heat was unbearable.  It was 92 * F or 33 * C.  The trail was uphill, dusty, rocky and no shade.  I was pouring sweat by the buckets.

We are staying  in a small hostel and the comraderie is great.  So far our pilgrims menu served by restaurants or the hostel is always delicious, maybe because of the bottle of wine that always goes with it.  We are in a very tiny village and tonight we have thunderstorms and heavy downpour.  If it is raining this hard tomorrow we will stay put.
