We decided to do a short day in order to be done before noon. We got to Viana by 11:00 a.m. And avoided the heat. We are walking by vineyards and olive groves. We were entering the wine country of La Rioja.
All along the camino, pilgrims build up sculptures from rocks. Today we saw a site where pilgrims wrote little notes of prayers. This got my attention.
