Day 18. Santo Domingo Calzada to Viloria de la Rioja. 14km.

We didn't realize breakfast was included in our hotel until after we had grocery shopped for our breakfast.  I had hoped to get started early but breakfast at the parador didn't start until 7:30 and by the time we were done and checked out it was after 9:30.  The Buffett breakfast was excellent with lots of fruits, hams and brown bread.

This Brazilian guy Daniel was outside the parador and Dick noticed his drone camera.  I thought I was high tech with my mini IPad.  He takes photos with the drone and he showed us how it takes off.  He gave me his blog address and it will be interesting to see his pictures.

We were fortunate that it is cooler and so the walk was pretty pleasant today.

Dick is a happy camper, the hostel has a guitar!

This is a 10 bed hostel that I had heard was fabulous.  It is clean but it is a typical old Spanish home.  The floors and walls are cement so it feels cold and dusty that I am coughing when inside.  The hosts are cooking and we all eat together for dinner  and breakfast.  You pay what you want to pay or it is called donativo.  However, there is a suggested amount Of 10 euros total for both meals.  That's very reasonable.  Our dinner last night was 11 euros and some hostels ask for 3 euros for breakfast.
