Day 16. Azofra to Santo Domingo de Calzada

We were blessed with great walking weather, cloudy skies and cooler temperature.  I am noticing how much easier I am able to go up and down the hills.

This is still red wine country and the landscape is beautiful with the red soil and the vineyards in full bloom.  Once in a while Dick notices a bunch of grapes on the ground and he picks them up.  They are very sweet.

We made good coverage stopping only as we got close to town.  A vendor was selling juice as we crested a hill so we stopped to put up our tired feet.

This is Santo Dominfo de Calzado where we are staying two nights.  Tonight we are staying at the Alburgue which accommodates 208 pilgrims.  It is very clean and beautifully designed.  We are in a room of 12.  But tomorrow we splurge and will stay at the Parador, Spain's luxury run hotels for our first day of rest!!
