A long day today and our first rainy day. Lucky though it did not rain for too long. It started with an uphill climb and then the descent on very rocky trails. Dick plays his harmonica on the trail and I am beginning to appreciate it more and more as it breaks the monotony of walking for miles. Of course he loves to play it to the pilgrims too.
Great vistas and a beautiful trail going into the city following the river a long ways into the city. The trail to the city is beautiful, the river on the right, a walled walk and an expansive green area with beautiful trees. We met two old men who chatted with us and a lady who offered to help as she thought we looked lost. She had been a pilgrim herself this year. The Spaniards are so hospitable to the peregrinos.

A treat to us in a very nice hotel with a bath tub, hotel Palacios de Los Blasones. Tonight we are eating in a Chinese restaurant for a change of pace from eating the Pilgrims menu. I will miss the flan dessert, which I have been having just about every night.
