Veronica's home was built in the 1400's and is a beautiful place. It was the home of a noble man, thus the word pazo. It was great to get a ride so I did not have to catch a bus, walk or carry my backpack.
I had an interesting evening with an Australian couple, Dave was a general in Australia. He participated in Iraq and knew Gen. Petraeus and is very knowlegeable in the Middle East crisis. I believe his wife was Susie. He had also been assigned in D.C. So was well acquainted with US politics. He is predicting Hillary will run and win! We had a very interesting and long conversation over dinner. This is one of the things I love about the camino, people from all walks of life. I am learning so much about history, geography, politics, culture and much more every day.
Dick arrived very late, after 10 pm. He started late this morning because he played the grand piano in the morning. It was an hour to pick him up and another hour to get back to the hotel. I told Dick that was too long a commute for the owners to pick him up and drive him back again the next day to where he stopped walking. The amazing thing was the hotel owners were doing this for free.
Dick is not missing a step in this camino. During a few times this last days, the casa rural can pick him up at the end of his walk that day and take him back to the hotel I am in. However, he is driven back the next day to exactly where he stopped the previous day to start again.
