Day 33. Rest day in Leon.

Since we had a late night we slept in and had a late breakfast at the Parador.  It was a buffet and they had a gorgeous assortment of food, all kinds of ham, sweets, fruits, juices, breads, etc.  We ate a lot and got very stuffed.

Even though I wanted to keep my feet up and take it slow I did not want to miss seeing the cathedral.  It was amazing.  An audio guide came with the 4 euro fee and the historical information made you really appreciate the beautiful cathedral.

Dick, the street performer.  Saw the pilgrim with the uke and he whips out his harmonica.  The girl is dancing.

The stained glass are magnificent!

We met Sinead at the bunker like rest refuge on our walk to Reliegos.  She was tired and feeling low.  We offered her bread and cheese and she gave us chocolate and nuts.  What a treat!  We ran into her at Leon in front of the cathedral, during her last day at the Camino.  She had a short camino and will return again to finish.  She is Irish.

It is the feast of St. Froilan, Leon's patron saint.  Vendors set up tents and are wearing medieval clothes.
