Day 45. Sarria to Portomarin. 22.4 km. Eleanor Resting

Dick got up early for an 8:00 breakfast and 9:00 a.m departure so he could get a ride with Javiar to Sarria with the group of 6, Australians, British and Scottish couples that came last night.  It rained all day and I enjoyed watching the cows outside my window.  It was interesting to see the farmer collect his herd and March them back to the road from the meadow.  He had his umbrella and called out to the cows.  I have it on video but having a hard time uploading it.

Dick got to PortoMarin about 7:00.  He stopped for a long lunch so called late for Javier to pick him up.  This is his first time walking ahead and returning back to where he started that day.  This service from this guest house is available so he gets to sleep here again and be with me tonight.  Tomorrow Javier will drop him off back at Portomarin where he stopped.   He is looking forward to another hot bath.

Since it is pouring rain I am indoors all day, checking the web, soaking in the tub, resting my knee, getting lunch and tea brought up to me in the upstairs library/ sitting room.  I am lucky to have been recommended this place.  Great place to nurse a tendonitis.  I have had two massages in my room since I got here.

Salad and lentil soup with chorizo for lunch

The farmer later came and herded them out while yelling out his command.

Vegetables with toasted garlic, bacon, drizzled with olives.

Cod with eggplant, roasted peppers, onions

Mousse in a chocolate mold.  Out of this world!
