Day 39. Ponferrada to Cacabelos. 15.2 km. rest day for me

Dick did not get his towel back so using a face towel to dry up. Hopefully, we will run into a sports store soon to buy the light weight, quick dry towel.  He had a shorter walk today.  We are not talking on the phone long because we have two phones with only one charger and I kept  the charger.  So he is to call just to let me know he arrived safely and to check  that I am still sane and he is to turn off his phone.

Am tired of the sitting and waiting for the knee to heal as am not seeing improvement.  I came down for breakfast as usual and had a taxi called for me to go to the  cathedral for the 10 am mass.  I then walked to the tourist office to ask about the train or bus leaving Astorga for Sarria where I am meeting Dick and is the start of the 100 km. last stage of the camino walk to Santiago.

I will leave on Saturday or Sunday at the 3:15 train.  I have a nice Casa rural booked for Sunday.  Unfortunately they are full on Saturday.  This hotel is also also full on Saturday so I have to move out.  I might move to the  alburgue down the street where we stayed the first night in Astorga.

The cathedral altar is gorgeous. Today is Jessie's 30th birthday and I offered the mass for her.

I had tea at the plaza and met some pilgrims.  Met a British girl who also has tendonitis.  She did not walk for two weeks but would bus to meet up with her husband.  I tried that but I was  doing a lot of walking to get to the bus or walk from the bus stop to the hotel or had to taxi as there was no bus.  I am trying to rest up so I can walk the last 100 km.  the British guy  told me he was going to pray for me to heal and I Believe him.

I have an 11 pm Skype date with Ronie and May to talk about our Ninang project and it is 10:15 and the ladies crowd is still here watching a soccer game and the staff too.  The reception for wifi is better here in the cafe than the room.
