Odeceixes

We accidentally made an exit and discovered we were in to Vasco de Gamas birth place.  It had a beautiful fortress overlooking the town and the Atlantic. Vasco de Gama was the first person to sail directly from Europe to India.

A local lady suggested we spend the night at Odeceixe. The road was along the coast and it was very beautiful.  We had such a hard time getting to it as there were no road signs for it.  No wonder.  It is just a tiny, tiny village with the most beautiful beach.  It had a million dollar view.  We drove up the windy road to the campsite.  It was a free campsite where the young surfers park their campers and spend the night.  We decided to find the campground out of town instead.  Dick wasn't pleased to leave the million dollar view.  I wanted bathrooms and electrical hookup for some heat!

We had a fabulous dinner of shrimps and squid.  Amazing.

We found this 4 star campground.
